Kena Herod has just returned from Venice, Italy, where she traced the footsteps of New York City Ballet co-founder Lincoln Kirstein. The Dance Scene returns April 12 with a report exploring the significance of Kirstein's chance encounter in 1929 with the funeral of Serge Diaghilev, the great impresario of the Ballets Russes.
