MAISONNEUVE BRINGS HOME THE GOLD!

And some silver too!

Maisonneuve is just tickled to announce that the magazine received four medals at this year's National Magazine Awards: two gold and two silver.

Tadzio Richards' excellent "Burning Water" (Issue 23/ Spring 2007) won the gold medal in the prestigious Investigative Reporting category,  as well the silver medal in the Science, Technology & the Environment category.

Maisy's brilliant and sassy Art Director Anna Minzhulina won the gold medal in the Magazine Covers category for the Food Issue (Issue 26/ Winter 2007).

Bruce Livesey's hard-hitting "Up In Smoke" (Issue 23/ Spring 2007) took the silver medal in the Politics and Public Interest category.

Two Honorable Mentions rounded out Maisonneuve's haul for the evening, with Camilla Gibb nominated in the Fiction category (“Where We Gather At Night” -- Issue 24/ Summer 2007) and Siobhan Roberts nominated in the Science, Technology & the Environment category (“Crisis + Paradox = Revolution” -- Issue 25/ Fall 2007).

Congratulations to the winners and nominees -- and thanks to all the kick-ass writers, artists and staff (past and present!) for their hard work and dedication to the mag.  Check out some photos of the NMAs, held at the Carlu in Toronto on June 6, 2008, here:
