Maisonneuve is delighted to announce that Tobin Ng will be taking over the role of associate editor at Maisonneuve. Tobin is a journalist and fact checker based in Ottawa. They got their start in magazines at Maisonneuve and have since worked with the Walrus, Maclean’s, Xtra and Broadview, among other publications. They love reporting that explores community care and spotlights creative solutions to social problems.
Outgoing editor-in-chief Lucy Uprichard is leaving the magazine to continue her archive studies at McGill University and to continue her freelance writing work. Her final issue will be Winter 2023, on newsstands December 15.
“It has been such a fulfilling experience to have the chance to work with so many amazing writers and artists over the past year and I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Maisonneuve,” she says. “Tobin is an incredibly thoughtful journalist who will be a great addition to the team. As sad as I am to leave, I couldn’t be more excited to leave the publication in the hands of Tobin and Nour, who I am sure will be an incredible force on the Canadian media landscape.”
