Introducing Maisonneuve's New Associate Editor Aysha White
July 16, 2025Maisonneuve is excited to welcome Aysha White as our new associate editor. Her first issue will be Fall 2025, working with incoming editor-in-chief Rosie Long Decter.
Aysha is a journalist, editor, fact-checker, graphic designer, and artist. Based in Montreal, Quebec, she is a graduate of Concordia University’s journalism program. Aysha is passionate about print magazines, having started her professional career as an editorial intern at Reader’s Digest Canada (RIP!).
She has served as news editor of This magazine, one of Canada’s oldest continuously publishing magazines. As an editorial fellow at the Walrus, she gained extensive experience in fact-checking and research. Her work has appeared in Reader’s Digest Canada, Broadview, and Opal magazine.
Aysha has received grants to produce independent journalism projects that utilize the magazine format to tell a single story: Montreal Smoked Meat: A Secret History (2023) and the Alt Muslim Scrapbook (2025). She is thrilled to contribute her knowledge as an editor, fact-checker, and creative professional in her role as associate editor at Maisonneuve.
